WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH A PROFESSIONAL NAPO ORGANIZER?

As a professional member of NAPO, with certificates in Residential Organizing and Household Management, Caterina always respects boundaries with a compassionate and non judgmental approach. Hiring a NAPO member means that you are hiring a committed businessperson who values education and professional development, and who stays current on trends and advancements in the industry.  NAPO members have aligned themselves with a respected association that leads and advances the organizing and productivity profession, and whose members adhere to a Code of Ethics.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING the consultation?

Once a consultation is scheduled, your space will be evaluated through a walk and talk evaluation. After touring your space, Caterina will review client expectations and discuss any questions you may have. The strategy and plan of action to achieve your goal(s) will be outlined along with an estimated time frame to complete the space.

HOW LONG ARE STANDARD ORGANIZING SESSIONS?

Standard organizing sessions are typically 4 hours. Depending on the client’s goals and involvement, the size of the project, and the amount of work to be completed, multiple sessions are often required to complete most spaces.

DO I NEED TO BE PRESENT DURING ORGANIZING SESSIONS?

Nope! Your involvement is entirely up to you! Every client is different with different needs and time restraints. You will get out and learn as much as you put in. Caterina can help to get your space in order but without solid systems and the transference of skills, often times clients backslide and are unsure how to maintain their newly organized space. For this reason, maintenance sessions are available.

SHOULD I PURCHASE STORAGE SOLUTIONS BEFORE AN ORGANIZING SESSON?

No, please don’t! Often times clients already have many solutions without even realizing it. Storage solutions are not the answer to staying organized. While they can help, they aren’t always necessary. Not until your space is decluttered and sorted can storage systems be evaluated. Caterina has many go-to favorites that she suggests while continually staying in tune with the current market.

HOW MUCH DOES A PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZING SESSION COST?

It is recommended to avoid choosing a Professional Organizer strictly by price. Instead, focus on finding someone with the personality and skill set that match your needs. That person is most likely to deliver the greatest value by achieving the results you desire in the shortest amount of time.

As with most professions, fees vary based on experience, geographic location and the scope of work to be completed. Caterina charges a flat rate for residential organizing services, but additional time may be booked by the hour. Estimates are given for specialty services.

WHAT IS CHRONIC DISORGANIZATION?

According to the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD), Chronic disorganization is having a past history of disorganization in which self-help efforts to change have failed, an undermining of current quality of life due to disorganization, and the expectation of future disorganization.

Being unable to grasp organization or attempting to help a loved one through the process of decluttering their valuables can be frustrating. As an outsider, Caterina understands the importance of building trust through identifying what’s important to individuals who over accumulate or have chronic disorganization, while respecting their feelings and valuables. With a highly compassionate, calm, and non-judgmental approach Caterina works one-on-one with clients by talking them through the process of letting go, teaching boundaries, and creating positive habits and behaviors.
